About Us

Hi There!

This is us, Frances and Mark.  In 2008 after a couple of months of sharing a flat we decided to dive straight in and buy our first home, if you know, you know, right?

We bought a fixer upper against Mark's better judgement, he said "they take all your time and energy and you'll never be done". Turns out he was right. Fifteen years and three renovations later, here we are, still doing it.

Our current home is the biggest renovation yet and when we moved in I set up an Instagram account to document our progress. It was slow at first, juggling kids, a renovation and children isn't easy but I've found that anything that's worth it never is. I've loved learning more about interior design and DIY, this year I've been doing so much more of it myself after deciding I couldn't spend my life waiting for weekends and holidays for Mark to do it. 

We definitely don't always get it right first time but get so much satisfaction from the process (I was going to say enjoyment but that definitely isn't the case all the time!). And, it turns out we've also really enjoyed sharing the process and helping others transform their own homes too. The fact we both are teachers, by trade, means that probably isn't too surprising. Deciding to set up this site seemed like the next logical step, being able to share more of the detail and hopefully keep inspiring and sharing what we learn with you along the way.
